I have been a Hendricks County resident for 30+ years, living in Center Township just outside the Danville town limits. My wife, Laurie, and I have been married for 40+ years and have one daughter, Elizabeth, who currently lives in Avon. We have a horse facility on 15 acres and are involved in showing horses throughout the Midwest on the Quarter Horse circuit.

I am currently a marketing consultant, working primarily with an information technology company where I prepare their monthly newsletter, social media posts, do website design and maintenance, sales collateral pieces and train customers on the VoIP telephone system the company installs. I also work with several livestock industry companies.

Previously I worked in the corporate world as a marketing manager serving as an in-house advertising resource, and was an advertising account supervisor for Indianapolis ad agencies.

I have also been active in politics, starting with serving on the campaign staff for Senator Richard G. Lugar, then moving to the Indiana General Assembly and the House of Representatives Majority Staff before moving to the private sector. I have stayed active in politics as a volunteer for many campaigns and as a state convention delegate.

And, for 40+ years, have been active in the equine industry as a breeder and competitor, first showing Appaloosa horses, and now active with the American Quarter Horse Association. I served as a director for many years for the Hoosier Appaloosa Association, and just recently concluded six years as a director and district vice-president for the Indiana Quarter Horse Association. My wife and daughter do the showing while I am the “truck driver, groom and stall cleaner” to support them.

I attend Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in Avon, IN, and serve on committees for the church. I am a graduate of Hanover College with a BA in Political Science, and have a Masters in Public Administration from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.

I am a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau, American Quarter Horse Association, National Snaffle Bit Association, American Ranch Horse Association, Culver Club of Indianapolis, the Culver Summer School Alumni Association and I am a Life Loyal Sigma Chi.
